A Life's Work
Born in Chapel Arm , Newfoundland in the middle of a family of nine , three sisters and six brothers . His father was a man of all trades including a lumberjack, Chef, Baker, Farmer and a Sailor. Lloyd was a very creative child and soon after starting school he quickly became the school artist. Back in the 1940's and 50's it was very difficult to raise a large family so the luxury of art paper and paint was unheard of. He drew on whatever was at hand including cardboard and scrap paper. he became serious about art after his Mother bought him a Jon Gnagy Learn to Draw kit when he was fourteen. At age sixteen he worked with his father in the lumber woods before moving to Montreal where he sailed for a number of years. He started painting at age 24, after buying a paints to pass the boredom on board ship. Today he is living in Stephenville, NL with his wife Daphne. They have a son David residing in Halifax, NS who is a published writer. Lloyd's work is all over the world, in many large corporations and private collections. He have had many one man shows and he he continues to be sought after and is in big demand. Along with painting he prints and publishes his own Geclee prints, a Photographer, Videographer , a Musician, Inviormentlist and chef. He is a great supporter of Charity and believes in "Giving Back" his donations in artwork have amounted to over $150.000.
